Democratic National Committee
We support the full inclusion of all families, including same-sex couples, in the life of our nation, and support equal responsibility, benefits, and protections. The Green Party of the United States
We support the recognition of equal rights of persons gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender to housing, jobs, civil marriage, medical benefits, child custody, and in all areas of life provided to all other citizens.

Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government's treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships.

California Democratic Party
We support the LGBT Community in its quest for the right to legal marriage as well as the clergy’s complete religious freedom to solemnize marriages in accordance with their beliefs. [Adopted April 18, 2010]
Colorado Democratic Party
We support civil unions for all couples with all the benefits, protections and responsibilities of married spouses; and urge the defeat of the Federal Marriage Amendment and the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act. [Adopted May 12, 2010]
Connecticut Democratic Party
Connecticut is a state in which same sex marriage is legal and we uphold the principle that same sex couples deserve equal rights and responsibilities under Connecticut law. [2010 Platform]
District of Columbia Democratic State Committee
The DC Democratic State Committee has passed a resolution in support of: Full civil marriage equality for all couples in the District of Columbia. [2009 Resolution]
Iowa Democratic Party
We support marriage equality. We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act. [Adopted June 10, 2010]
Louisiana Democratic Party
Louisiana has adopted the Democratic National Committee’s platform.

We will vigorously promote measures that ensure the full civil rights of Michigan’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) citizens. We support full inclusion of LGBT families in the life of our state and seek equal responsibilities, benefits, and protections for those families, including the right to adopt and raise children. Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party
Support legislation to legalize gay marriage in Minnesota. [Action Agenda 2010]
Libertarian Party of Minnesota
Freedom of Marriage: We hold that unions between adults are a private matter, and should not be the subject of government licensing, regardless of sex. We call for the State of Minnesota to not restrict or give preferential treatment to private contracts between adults. [Adopted June 13, 2009]
New Hampshire Democratic Party
Marriage equality is the law of New Hampshire and we will defend it against those who would turn their back on New Hampshire’s long tradition of respect for basic human rights and freedoms. [2010 Platform]
New Mexico Democratic Party
We value an ethical, open, and participatory government that protects the freedom and liberty of its citizens. We support: protecting constitutional rights and civil liberties, including reproductive choice and marriage equality. [Adopted March 13, 2010]
New York State Democratic Committee
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the New York State Democratic Committee reasserts its firm support for equal treatment under the law of same-sex couples and families; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the New York State Democratic Committee opposes any attempt to bar lesbian and gay couples from civil marriage, including constitutional amendments and federal, state or local legislation.

Working Families Party of New York
The right to marry the person of one’s choice is a basic freedom. Marriage is one of society’s most important social institutions, and — with a healthcare system in crisis — marriage is also a key economic benefit gays and lesbians can’t be excluded from.

Oregon Democratic Party
Ensure every American has the opportunity to serve their country, marry, and live life solely in accordance with their ability and desire without specter of unlawful discrimination.
Repeal or amend Oregon Constitutional Amendment Article 15, Section 5a (Ballot Measure 36 of 2004) that bans marriage equality for same-sex couples. Ensure full marriage equality for same‐sex Oregon couples and effect full legal recognition for same‐sex unions of other jurisdictions.
Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) and the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and reinstate status and benefits for service members previously discharged under DADT. [2010 Legislative Agenda]
Vermont Democratic Party
We celebrate having achieved legal equality in Vermont for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples, and we will continue to press our Congressional delegation to pass similar legislation at the national level and to repeal existing discriminatory laws. Likewise, we will urge our Attorney General to seek legal redress for the continuing federal discrimination against LGBT Vermonters.

Marriage, as a legal union of consenting adults, should not be restricted by sexual orientation or gender identity. Wyoming Democratic Party

We support legal protection for same-sex civil unions. We believe that parties to a civil union should have the same legal benefits, protections and responsibilities granted to other individuals united by civil contract under Montana laws. [2010 Platform]
South Carolina Democratic Party
To oppose any amendments to the South Carolina Constitution that codifies discrimination in any form harming the equal treatment under law for all citizens; and to support equal and full civil rights for all citizens, including gay, lesbian, and transgender citizens. [Adopted April 24, 2010]
Texas Democratic Party
Repeal of discriminatory laws and policies against members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. [Rights and Freedoms, 2010]
Wisconsin Democratic Party
